Question EHX Doctor Q on bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
my local guitar center has one of these used for $30. i wanted to try it out, but none of their oh-so-helpful employees could be bothered to get it out of the case for me.

so, is it worth giving a try?

i don't play funk or slap, i'd be using it more for an "auto-wah" effect.

If it's the nano version, pass. Otherwise, I don't know.

Dr. Q is pretty vanilla IMO.

Dr Q is a good starting place and unlike many envelope followers it usually plays well with other efx.

I had an early one and never cared for it.
Wanky wah with no Funk; not my favorite sounds at all.

An teacher of mine from a while back used one, but he wasn't much of an effects junkie.

I like mine a lot. It's musical and subtle. If you're looking for a BIG envelope filter kick, look elsewhere.

There's a thread here where I posted some clips. CALLING DOCTOR Q...a call for advice from the obsessed and bored
