Does anyone make use of the expression input on their Enigma? I'm wanting to give it a try, except I find it incredibly impractical that there isn't any kind of switch to turn the expression mode on or off. It just seems like once it's plugged in, you're stuck in that mode until you unplug it. Think it'd be difficult to wire up a 3rd switch on the pedal to handle that?

doesnt the exp pedal just control the stop poiont of the sweep? (or maybe the start point)

it seems to me that you could "deactivate" the expression mode by finding the spot where you would set the dial, and leaving the expression pedal at that point. in this case, it would be no different than the normal sweep. just keep your foot off the expression pedal!

this was my experience with the ehx polyphase, which uses a similar design (by Mike Beigel as well)

Hmm, for some reason I thought that it essentially froze the filter sweep at a frequency point depending on the position of the pedal. Like a wah.

From the manual: EXPRESSION PEDAL INPUT – An optional expression pedal can be used with
the ENIGMA for manual control of the filter. When the pedal is in toe up position,
the frequency will be at the “START” position. In the toe down position, the
frequency will be at the “STOP” position. Use this along with various “Q” knob
setting to get resonant filter sweeps as well as wah-wah sounds with a versatile
range.

IF it works anything like my EP-1's sweep expression mod, it'll probably control where it stops/starts...essentially controlling the sweep 'travel'...I wouldn't worry about it being a problem, 3toes. Try it out. You'll pribably find it entirely useful...especially after any distortion pedal you have.
