dammit--trying to embed the Youtube just for the Enigma... not succeeding.

Anyway, just based on that one video clip, I'm disappointed. It seemed like there was just the one good gurgly synthy sound, and all other settings were super weak. Could just be the way the one guy set the knobs though.

I really didn't like the sound of it with the distortion sadly Almost lost in the mix when they were playing too.

That looks promising. I'm glad I haven't jumped the gun on a Q-Tron+ yet. It's a shame that it doesn't have its own effects loop. That is one feature that stands out to me in the Q-Tron+ that may tip me towards that pedal.

Hopefully a better demo of it pops up soon. The Jack Conte stuff is hard to base any judgments on and I want to hear more.

I loooove the synthy gurgly sound though. Damn this thing hits it on the nail!

It seems to be the same height as, say, a microPOG, only a bit wider... that right? I think I can clear up just enough space (bye bye, SYB-5) on my board to get it in.

Sounds neat on its own, but in the mix.... just kind of a burbly sparkle.

I like that. I really like that.
Edit: Although they could have released a better demo which showed it's full capabilities instead of trying to be arty.

Use this along with various “Q” knob setting to get resonant filter sweeps as well as wah-wah sounds with a versatile range.

it's just a first taste. myself, I find that it looks pretty dang promising

here are some tidbits from the instructions:

Quote:
START – This knob sets the frequency that the sweep starts at. Fully CCW is the
lowest frequency (about 40Hz). Fully CW is the highest setting (about 3Khz). Use
this knob along with the “STOP” knob to set the range and direction of the sweep.
For example, a low “START” and a high “STOP” will sweep upward. A high
“START” and a low “STOP” will sweep downward.
STOP – This knob sets the frequency that the filter sweeps to. Fully CCW is the
lowest setting (about 40Hz). Fully CW is the highest setting (about 3KHz).

CAUTION: This pedal was designed to give the user the maximum potential for
user customizability and there are some setting combinations that are extreme. If the
Q setting is maxed, at the peak high and low frequency this pedal can be
INCREDIBLY loud.
also, apparently there is a trimpot for distortion level. the other trimpots are not recommended for tweaking

Interesting. Maybe another filter suitable for d'n'b type stuff?

I guess if both start and stop are at the same place we can use the pedal strictly as a low- or band- or high-pass filter, right?

I'm putting a bet on two or three of these showing up in the classifieds within a month of the product hitting the stores, with the seller saying "awesome pedal, just not what I was looking for."

I wouldn't take that bet as you may well be right. Even though I've been looking for a non-Meatball style filter with controls over attack and decay, this one may have too many knobs for me. And yet the only demo so far doesn't show it as being as versatile as all those controls would seem to indicate.

But again, I'm waiting for more clips/demos before I make up my mind on it. It certainly has a number of cool features.
