just picked up the EHX Freeze. ugly graphics on this little bugger but it's very neat so far.
super simple.
One 3 way switch - Fast, Slow, and Latch. Fast and Slow are similar, Slow just has a swelling fade in and out, that you can set the speed for. Fast starts looping immediately. Latch keeps looping the sound that's playing when you click on it, then will replace the sound with a new input when you click it again. double-click to turn it off in Latch mode.
One knob for the effect level. the non looped, passed through sound stays at unity, and i didn't hear any modulation to the signal going through. the knob just adjusts how loud the looped part is playing.
And one footswitch.
it's a VERY small amount of sound that is looped. it's more of a droney type looper than able to get any clicky stuttering type of sound out of it.
the Latch mode is fun. if you strum a chord or hit a root note, engage the Latch, then play over that it's interesting. easy to do chord progressions and solo over it. fun stuff.
this would be a GREAT pedal if there was a knob or switch that sets how long a sample was looped. as it is, it's fun, and i could see using it, but it's more a toy. SO close to something i've wanted for a long time.
it does some neat oscillations to the loop in Latch mode. and does make interesting things happen with pedals in front of it.

(if there is a better way to add links directly to the clips instead of the Page O' Clips clue me in. never used SoundClick and way too lazy right now to do research)
if there's something else somebody wants, or a version without the crappy-quick-thrown-together drum loops (i can do better when it's for real! realz!) i'll try to accommodate.
accommodate is a funny word. accooooom..... oooooo...... daaaaaaaaaaateeeeeeee........
cheers!
