Ehx Freeze slow latch wears me out.

So, I love my ehx freeze, but when I play in slow latch mode it just wears me out. Super painful. Are there any kind of softer footswitches that any one know's of?
Something maybe that I don't have to make as much of a foot movement for?
In my head I imagine a switch leading from the pedal case that is low and soft.
Your input is must welcome, thanks.

There is a momentary switch made by Boss that is an external switch (it has its own housing) that I imagine could be used if you modded the Freeze. Not sure how to go about the mods though, but I'm sure there are plenty of people on here who can help with that

I think you may also be asking for a momentary switch. Its usually the kind of switches they would put in pedals with tap tempo. As opposed to making the hard switch, where you'd feel it, its softer and doesn't make the "click" you get with normal switches.

As such, there are people who can do that mod for you for pretty cheap, or you could even do it yourself. Its just a matter of changing the footswitch on the pedal, as far as I can tell.

Hope that helps. Otherwise, you'd have to mod it to take an external source (if I understand you correctly).

@wdinc01 - The switch already has a momentary switch

I know. But I mean a totally soft switch, without the click.

Thanks for the replies,
yeah the switch is a momentary.

I will have to check out the Boss switch that you are talking about Bruce.

And to clear up any confusion, what I'm really looking is for a switch that is not as tall, maybe something two inches or so from the floor. Maybe a pad more than a switch?

I'll will update this post with any interesting finds that i come across in my search in case some one else has the same problem as me.

Thanks.

These are the switches I was talking about:

BOSS U.S. - FS-5U/-5L: Foot Switch

They are more like pads and could probably be modded to work with the freeze

I was having problems with my foot 'bottoming out' with the freeze up on my pedaltrain. I made a 'riser' out of a superball. Just drilled a hole for a press fit over the existing switch. Maybe this would help?

I saw this randomly the other day - Electro Harmonix Freeze effects loop mod

At the bottom of the page it mentions a soft touch footswitch mod

For the record, this is what I was referring to. It probably would have been better if I added a link, but I couldn't remember the website.

But it sounds like the Boss FS-5U is what you're looking for

If you want soft, i know Exar makes a switch which is in fact a sturdy little rubber balloon, which you can press. It is meant as an expression pedal for their envelope filter, but it might work for you. Exar is a polish company I believe, i hope it's available where you are.

Another option would of course be to put some nice sparkly pink, rainbow unicornshoes on your dainty feet. You know. Against the horriffic and stupendous pain.
