EHX Hoax output question please

Sign in to disble this ad
OK 3 outputs. Direct>blended>effect only

When bypassed, effect only sends no signal.

Is there away to effectively utilize both the direct , and "effect only" output, within your effects loop of your amp ?

Reason I ask, is in a magazine reveiw, it stated, "if you dont have an effects loop, its best to use the blended output"

Thanks.

If you use the blended output and put the blend to full wet, what happens when you bypass it? If it gives only dry signal and no volume loss, then just do that. Magazines are dumb.

Thats what Ive been doing. When bypassed, you still have signal.

What is the purpose of the effect only output though.

While runing the "blendout", I tried running the "effect only"out, to a seperate combo amp, to hear what the Hoax ALONE is doing. That way I can tweak it by itself. it gets a very crumy tone by itself. No lowend whatsoever

I think its a Hoax for bass maybe

blend out is a 50/50 out, so you will get volume loss if the effects are bypassed, this is the same as on an RBI (which is why you dont run it or you just get a blender of your own)

Technically, if you're using the "Effect Only" out, you should be also using the "Direct" out as well. That way, you send the clean and effect signals to two separate amps. The results should be better that way.
