EHX Holy Grail - loose knob, need HELP

Sign in to disble this ad
I got out my EHX Holy Grail pedal to try out again... before I load it out to my guitarist again. The knob is very loose. I opened it up to see if there was anything that could be done from the inside --- saw nothing, except when I turn the knob, it actually moves the circuit board inside there (which can't be good).

How do I remove the knob from the top side? There is a nut on the top, I could probably tighten it up if I could get the black knob off..

HELP!?!?!!

Probably a grub screw type of knob. Look for a small hole (perhaps even two) on the side of the knob - inside you'll probably find a allen head screw. Loosen it and the knob should just come straight off. When you tighten the nut holding the pot, make sure you don't let the pot twist around.

If there's no grub screw, then it should just pull straight off. If it's stubborn, slip a spoon underneath the skirt of the knob and lever it off gently.

I'm always afraid to pull/pry to hard & mess something up.... but, I was steady & kept on - it came right off. No set screws.

Tightened up the nut on the shaft & all is well. Good as new. thanks!!
