EHX Nano Small Stone SOUNDCLIPS

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok so I did a few quick soundclips of the EHX Nano Small Stone. I did them with a Gibson SG Bass and an Ampeg V4BH so that's why the tone is so burly and grunty, along with my clips turning out really bassy through what I'm listening through at least.

The first clip goes through the riff once without the small stone and then adds it for the rest of the clip. The Small Stone is before a Box of Rock for a subtle coloring at a slow rate that I like. Check it out:

The second clip is just the small stone adding some color to the burly grunt of my SG Bass:

And then I did a clip with the Small Stone after the Box of Rock for a more extreme coloration:

If anyone would like to hear me try to do anything else with the Small Stone, just me know and I'll give it a try if I find the time, and please let me know what you think!

Clips sound great, but can you do one completely clean, the second one was still a little gritty. Also, I just borrowed my brothers phase 90 and it sounds remarkably better than the Boss PH-2 on bass, I think phaser is becoming on of my favorite modulation effects on bass.

Well here's as clean as I can get with the SVT-3 Pro set as clean as possible and a Jazz Bass with dead strings:

I think it sounds really wimpy compared to the SG Bass clips I did.

Sounds great thanks, do you have the color switch on for any of these?

No, I don't like the sound with the color switch up so much. You can check out the difference here:

It's more dramatic and in some ways too funky for what I like to do.

I like this pedal, and I think I may buy it, but what is that riff you play in your third clip? every single time u do a demo you play it and it sounds so badass, can I get a tab?

The distorted clips weren't especially to my liking but I enjoyed the jazz bass clip. Very tasteful.

It's just a little riff I made up in D that works well to demonstrate the sounds I get with different pedals because it kind of epitomizes my playing. It just goes from the root to the minor third to the fourth, all power chords, with a little bit of color thrown in. Nothing too fancy, I think you could do it all with your minor pentatonic rock scale. I don't know I don't really think about that stuff.

I listened to that clean clip I did with the SG Bass (the second one) and I do hear the dirt you're talking about. That's the recording device clipping in response to the huge bass frequencies. It sounds terrible, so just imagine it out.

those of you who have the nano small stone pedals; dont you miss a blend knob on it to mix it with your dry signal?
