Minor rant here.
Anyone else find it odd that Electro-Harmonix (New Sensor) requires a money order if one of their products is to be sent in for repair? I've had a couple pedals of theirs stop working properly (in this case, a MicroPOG) both I bought used on Talkbass - which is potentially another rant in itself.
Whatever. I'm in contact with some guy their named Chip Scooter Dugan whose email ends in @sovtek.com. According to him, my pedal must accompany $ 25 via money order. Strange.

since you bought those pedals second-hand, i find $25 to be a pretty fair deal - not worth having a LPB-1 repaired, though, I suppose |

I'm just a bit flummoxed that a large corporation requires me to wait in line at a bank to get a measly $ 25 money order.
No personal check. No cc. No ATM card etc.. |

Banks charge way too much for a M.O. What about a Postal Money Order, pick it up when you send it in? I'm sure the P.O.s in L.A. are hella busy, but you could at least kill two birds with one stone,...if EHX will take a Postal M.O. |

When you use a money order to pay a bill and you'd rather blow that money on FX that extra 2 bucks is like salt in the wound. |

| | I'm a tumbler, born under punches | | Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Northern California | | | Yeah, I found it a minor inconvenience to get a money order when I sent my BMS (I broke off a slider) in for repair. But since I didn't desperately need it for gigs, I just waited until I had a reason to go to the bank for something else and picked up the MO at the same time. Not that it matters, but I believe my bank (well, credit union) charged me $1.50.
I'm just glad my second hand EHX product is getting fixed, for what I think is a reasonable charge.
Side question for anyone that has had New Sensor Corp. fix one of their pedals: how long did it take? I sent mine in over a week ago by Priority Mail (so they should have received it) and haven't heard anything from them. Do they just send it back repaired or do you get any notification? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
