I now have 3 great pedals from EHX. A Soul Preacher, a Big Muff NYC, and a Metal Muff. I just love what they do with their pedals. I popped open the Metal Muff I just got, and I noticed something awesome. They first of all print "metal rules" on the board, and second, they put all the component values next to the component. Its almost all surface mount stuff, but if you had to replace the stuff, 1/4 watt resistors would fit.
Now I really need a POG. Love that EHX stuff!

I've owned a good deal of Muff varients over the years, and I think they were all cool with bass. |

I use it with a classic rock line up I gig with occasionally.
Through my MarkBass/Eden rig it sounds like a wall of stacks being punished mercilessly. Except it's at non- skullcrushing, earbleeding, pantsflapping volume. And each note is still clear and defined with good bottom.

On that page, there is a thing called the battery clip adapter near the bottom of the page. That's what I use since the Big Muff NYC adapters are non-standard, and the Russian ones don't come with an adapter plug.

Very different from the Russians... |

I've been looking for an envelope filter, and after listening to all the various clips and vids, I really think I like the Bassballs the best!
I think it was this video that put me over the top!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=su2iuKaD60I |

I'm really digging it. I find the more subdued setting between 9:00 and 11:00 makes a nice usable sound, almost like a deeper phaser. Anything higher is good for leads. Not impressed with the distortion switch yet, I just use the distortion on the Metaphors. |
