EHX Pocket Metal Muff- any experience?

Sign in to disble this ad
I noticed a Metal Muff at my local Guitar Center, used for $35 USD. Listened to some soundclips, and I rather liked it, but I was wondering if anybody had any past experiences with this pedal. Thanks in advance for any replies given, advice or other recommendations are appreciated. Also, first post.

i imagine you can get some useable sounds out of it. probably so (at least perceived) low end loss at moderate to high settings, but for $35, sheesh.

keep in mind that it isn't actually a muff circuit at all.

did you try it out at GC? try it - like it? - $35 is not much to take it home and see what it do with your rig.

i got the big box w/ 3-band EQ used at GC for $50. nasty, nasty distortifuzz! i used it in front of a Sansamp RBI for a spell...

I feel that you REALLY need to have more control over the EQ than the Metal Muff pocket has to offer to get the best sound out of it. I would go for the full size one over the XO.
