EHX Super Ego! Placement Hey Guys Does anyone know where is the best place to place the EHX super ego Pedal in a chain?? Ive got a Compressor, Synth, Octave and Fuzz first in line goin to a Pre amp and from the FX send and return of the Pre- amp ive got a Chorus and Delay running in. Still cant figure out a good place for the Super-Ego.. My use for it will be for an Ambient sound with some Modulation in it . So i thinkin of running either a tremolo or chorus or flange thru the FX loop on the Super ego..but i dont know where to place it in the chain..i want it to track well and at the same time want it right in the mix to combine well with other effects before and after it. Your help needed |
I put mine in front of everything .... it tracks a lot better in auto mode if it gets the raw signal (at least in my experience) |
It depends what you want to 'freeze.' Sometimes I wanted to freeze the synth pedal or the fuzz, so it was after those, but before the flanger and delay. Right now, it's between my wah and the flanger. I put the wah before the SuperEgo so that I could freeze a clean tone without the fuzz, env. filter/wah, or flanger engaged. I'd use that clean tone as a drone, then kick everything back on and have a different sound over the drone. I'm curious .... Have you tried this yet? I put an octave pedal (in my case, it was a EHX HOG) in the loop of the SuperEgo . Therefore the 'freezed' sound had a -1 octave and some harmonies. It was fun to solo over a drone of a chord you didn't actually play, and sounded pretty cool. Have you put anything in the SuperEgo's loop yet? |

Sci-Fi sound..So im thinkin of buyin myself a Phaser pedal to put in the loop..do you know any good phaser pedal for bass that is priced below 100$ possiblt below 70$ as well and sounds good...about the placement ..i think im gonna try putting it first in the FX loop of my pre-amp before the Flange I got the Synth, octave and Fuzz goin into my pre-amps input. |
