Does the tubes themselves glow inside the EHX Tube Pedals, or do they use a light bulb? Just curious!

|  | OVNIFX EXAR pedals rep for North & Central America | | Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: PDX, OR | | I don't know exactly what factors play into how much a tube does or doesn't light up on its own, but I do know that in normal use a 12AX7 doesn't light up all that much, and it may not light up at all at some of the low voltages and currents that are chosen in the designs of many inexpensive tube stages, so manufacturers will throw a lamp or LED in there for a nice light show that will make consumers happy about the fat tube warmth that they wouldn't hear if there was no light show.  |
