EHX VoiceBox for Bass???

So I was recently looking up effects to add to my chain, I have a Boss GT-10B and have always wanted something TalkBox like in my chain. Has anyone tried the Electro-Harmonix VoiceBox with a bass? The vocoder feature looks awesome, and I've seen it used with a keyboard and guitar, so I don't think bass would be a stretch. Also, is there a specific talk box for bass, or could you just use the standard Rocktron Talk Box? I once saw one of my friends with a talk box custom made with his bass, and instead of the normal tube, he was wearing what looked like a pilot's mask. Who knows!
