Question EHX XO BMS & Qtron+ or Pod XT Live/Pro

After going through a load of effects and manufacturers i've ended up with a Pickle Pie B, Morley Power Wah, Cream Pie and echo park. I'm thinking of shifting the latter 2 anyway as i'm not too fussed on them. That leaves me the fuzz and wah.

I've been listening to alot of Jamiriquai lataley and really want to get a synth plus i would like a filter. I should be gettting a bonus soon so i was thinking of getting them plus a new pedal board

BUT

for a similar price as those 2 items i can get a Pod XT live or Pro. i like the idea of the pro as i can rack it with my amp but other than that i'm not really sure of the advantages of the pro over the live. I had a fllor pod and liked the modelling, plus all the effects to play with to save me buying pedals each time i think, 'hmmm that would be nice!'

Any input greatfully received.

Thanks in advance

The Q-tron + is very nice and I am not convinced that any model would do quite the same thing.

Plenty of people are happy with their modellers though.

What I suggest you do is get a 2nd hand q-tron and a pod. Put them side by side and have a listen. Try to get the pod to do exactly what the q-tron does. You may find you are happy with the versitility of the modeller and don't find the q-tron any better in sound or feel.

On the other hand, you may find a need for more real, analogue processors with the richer sound and smoother response.

Only your ears can decide though!!

The Pod is pants for effects. Good for amp modelling only IMHO. My fave filter is the Boomstick Bottom Feeder. Really easy to dial in a good setting and no loss of low end at all. I've A/B'd it against the Micro Q-Tron and it won hands down. Not tried the Q-tron + though.
