Exclamation El grande bass fuzz on active bass?!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi im thinking about getting an el grande bass fuzz! im going to try it out in a fortnight against the bass big muff, however ive got an active bass thats 6 string which i use in my band. Will the el grande be to wild on the active? im getting a re issue 70s jazz bass soon which is passive but 4 string and i cant choose which bass im going to use in the band lol ( my gtarist uses drop D), obviously the fuzz will be better on the jazz bass but im just wondering will it work on the 6 string? Ive got an ashdown 4x10 and a MAG 300 head, hope it doesnt peak out all the time.. Please give any advice!

Thanks!

The Bass Big Muff offers a huge amount of tones from light fuzz to full on fuzz. The toggle switch also offers three different voicing. The El Grande Fuzz is only usable to 9 AM or 10 AM passed that it's just too wild. If the El Grande has the tone you are looking for it's great but the Muff offers a lot more versatitliy.
Also take a look at the Grey Stache; it's like a Muff on testosterone!

Yes you can. AFAIK they don't seem to have any issues with active instruments that I have heard of.
