Those two are completely different animals and I wouldn't even know where to begin. Maybe this helps:

And the Bass Big Muff, for further consideration:

yeah they are so different. the reason i choice the BBM over the MXR when i was buying my fuzz was because the Muff has a blend setting that lets you mix wet and dry signals. the el grande bass fuzz on the other hand i completly balls out fuzz all the time, there is no taming that animal.

I own both and both pedals are really terrific. Very different pedals as sevral people noted. The BBM is more controlled and more compressed, it is mostly voiced in the mids. The El Grande Fuzz is indeed a wild pedal capable of gorgeous fuzz while keeping a nice amount of bass. The deep switch helps achieving this. To my ears the BBM sounds more classic and the El Grande is more modern. From a space stand point of view the El Grande Fuzz wins, its a tinny pedal.

The Pork Loins is fabulous too, not quite in fuzz territorry but it gets pretty close. It's my favorite pedal at the moment.

An old American-made Big Muff. But keep in mind that the real key to his sound was the old tank of a wah pedal he used - a Tel-Ray era Morley Power Wah Boost. Neither his Muff or his wah were particularly bass-friendly, and you can hear it in the recordings... but it was still an awesome combo.

You can get pretty close with a modern Morley Power Wah, but they don't quite match the original.
