What are the differences between these pedals? Which sounds better? Which can get that troy sanders/Cliff Burton Tone? So many questions...
What do you guys think?!

By the way, Troy Sanders has both on his board, and Cliff used a Big Muff. So arguable you could say that a Big Muff would get you close to the tone of either, add in the El Grande to cop a few different tones that Troy might use.

I'd say if thats the sound you're going for go with the Big Muff first.

I found the El Grande very run of the mill and uninspiring.

+1.

Also, there are a lot of Muff derivatives out there (Earthbound Supercollider, Way Huge Swollen Pickle, Bass Big Muff, GGG/BYOC, Sanford & Sonny Bluebeard, etc.) so you may want to look at those as well.

which muff are you talking about? it makes a big difference. I'm not a huge fan of the El Grande, but I prefer it to all current production muffs except the Bass Big Muff.

If you are talking Bass Big Muff vs. El Grande, I'd go with the BBM. The El Grande is probably better for certain more modern rock sounds, though.
