I am not one for gimmicky one time use effects, or even those effects which seem like you would use them, but don't.
I like effects you can use over and over and over again, all the time, and still kick out some nice tone.
I recently found myself getting into the Electrix Rack Mount effects. (Filter Factory, and MoFX)
I gotta say, I love the fat sounds the filter factory can generate, and the MoFX is just as slick. The Flanger is in your face, the tremelo gives you an authentic trem sound, and can be placed in the chain. The Delay is awesome, and even has a loop setting. The distortion leaves a little to be desired, but is usable.
If you are looking for something to take your rig to the next level, you should give these a try. |

That's a whole lotta CC's, and way more than you can easily control with a standard MIDI foot controller. It really needs a sequencer or PC to get the most out of it. But it was a pretty good sounding filter for sure. |

They really come into their element when MIDI chained together (kinda ironic lol) however, I did not enjoy the hum I always seemed to get as well as the MIDI commands were good, but not really condusive to non-DJ applications IMO |

I ran the Filter Factory before the preamp, and the MoFX in the effects loop. |
