Electro Harmonix Holy Grail

Sign in to disble this ad
I just trotted down to guitar center and purchased an Electro Harmonix 'Holy Grail'

The only thing is it takes the special power input which is supplied but i live in Australia but am currently in America for a holiday.

My question is;

1) Has anyone managed to purchase an EHX holy grail power supply in Australia

2) Is there any way to work around it by going to a Dick Smiths or a Tandy to pick up a power supply that isnt an EHX Holy Grail certified

3) Is there any kind hearted totally awesome guys out there that could sell me theirs.

Cheers guys,

Jarryd

The Holy Grail is not hard to power at all. All you need is an equivalent adapter. There's nothing particularly "special" about the EHX power supply other than the odd plug... which actually isn't that uncommon.

The plug needs to be 3.5mm center-positive, and the adapter should be a regulated type. It also should be 9VDC and provide at least 200mA (you'll easily find 200mA+ on these - more is never a bad thing, as your pedal will only use what it needs).

I'm not sure of the actual current draw of the Holy Grail, but it's certainly less than whatever the included supply can provide (which I think is 100mA?). So, just use that as your basis for finding a minimum equivalent.

If you don't someone will whine about how you should have done a search or checked a faq and not wasted their time.
