I'm not into this genre but would love to pick your collective brains; I'm wanting to add a good synth to my arsenal & trying to decide between vintage analog & analog modelling. I've visited vintagesynthexplorer; are there any other sites you guys can suggest?

My problem is that I had a Yamaha CS-5 a thosand years ago & have been spoiled by real analog funkiness. Beyond that, I'm pretty out of the loop regarding technical differences between 80s-era stuff & nowadays stuff.

Count me in, I've been fired from bands for even talking about using effects.
I've also been described as a textural Bassist & I did not take offense.
