ElectroniX GeminiDrive vs. Source MultiWave Bass?

Does anyone have both? Or have heard both? Curious as to how they stack-up against one another. Aside from expression pedal and morphing possibilities that is.

It would be hard to do a comparison of these two pedals since they're very different beasts. Have you seen the Will Cady videos of the MultiWave?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKEWgOc_IBM

And there are samples on the Musicelectronix site for the GeminiDrive.

Which would I buy? The Multiwave, because I already have a GeminiDrive. I'll probably get a Multiwave at some point for the synthy sounds.

The Gemini is just another drive pedal. It has bells and whistles but in the end it sounds like all others.
The Multiwave on the other hand is a really innovative unit that produces never heard before tones.

You've had a Gemini MkII?

No but I heard it and checked the specs. It's your typical overdrive with clean blend and a movable break point. Nothing new to expect.

Just plugged mine in, played a few notes and I'll have to disagree.

Just plugged my new Gemini MkII in earlier today, and I have to agree with cybersnyder. Wow! I only had about 10 minutes to plug that sucker in, but I was pleasantly surprised. I have been through a lot of fuzz pedals and OD's, searching for the pedal that would nail that dirty tone down for me. This is it, I knew it from setting the pedal at flat and playing for 30 seconds. Played with the knobs and had myself a killer tone in all of a minute. Loving it. Os, thanks for hanging the shingle up again! Awesome, musical pedal. Happy me, OD GAS - gone.

Okay, sorry. I'm done. For now.

Sounds like the making of a "smack down" to me.........

And maybe it's not all about "new tones." Maybe it's better tones? I mean most devices produce tones which are not truly "new." Take a fuzz for example. New? Hardly. Are some devices better at producing it - especially for a bass? Absolutely. I imagine the same analogy can be used for ODs as well.

Back to my original question though. Anybody out there get a chance to play with both of them? The MW can produce some "old" tones and OD as well as it's more "newish" stuff.

I don't say that new is better. I don't even say that one pedal is better than the other.
If you're looking for a classic OD or fuzz tone, you don't want the Multiwave. It can do it but others do it much better.

Now we're getting someplace...

I wasn't talking "better." I was more looking to if the MWP could produce the same variety of tones as the Gemini. The MWP admittedly has a much wider range of tones and possibilities as the MWP.

I honestly don't think it could produce the same tones as the Gemini. Not with the same warmth and sustain. IMHO.
