Hi everybody,
I have a gig tonite and have an emergency question regarding the Radial ToneBone BassBone!!
Heres my situation...I have 3 singers in my band. After the first set I play an acoustic guitar song with each of my female singers. I use my pedal board for effects with my acoustic as well. I just got the TB BB and am wondering if I can run my acoustic guitar thru channel one? Will it effect the sound if I just have the TB BB set to flat? Obviously channel 2 has the EQ and wouldn't run thru that channel.
If anyone can help me fast here I would most grateful!!
Thanks in advance!!
Cheers!

It's designed for passive instruments, or an upright bass so personally I would use it on that instead of channel one.
If you still want to use channel one, it won't affect the sound at all if you have the eq setting at FLAT; according to the manual, the signal passes through unaltered, just like plugging your acoustic straight into the board. |

IMO - the only reason they recommend channel two for passive instruments, is that it has the three band eq, and it's more likely that you'd
a) have onboard eq for the active instrument going into channel A, and
b) would want to make the passive bass sound more like the active bass. (When I say "more like" - I simply mean you'd want to balance that signal with the active bass)
I'd use whichever one has the eq that works best for your situation. Are you playing bass on the same gig? If so - I might also be inclined to say put the guitar in channel 1, and then you can use the eq on ch B to dial in a good bass tone. Like I said, whatever works. You should be fine. |

If I could use channel 2 and possibly tweak the eq a bit to enhance the guitar, that would be ideal. I didnt know if since this is made for bass if that would work particularly well.

My thoughts were that you were planning on using the eq on your guitar, so channel one would work fine for the guitar - if you needed channel two for bass on the same gig...
If you did go ahead and use it on channel two you'd get more eq adjustability - those bands are 75, 470, and 5600 hz, and might not be the best for acoustic guitar. |

A/B'd it with a Fishman and Baggs preamps, and achieved the exact results from all three. |

And the other half was just me trying it out and finding out what it could and couldn't do. |
