Empress trem vs. Cygnet?

Has anyone tried both these pedals? I'm currently very happy with the Empress tremolo but I'm drawn to the Cygnet for the Multiplier mod. Can the Cygnet get the warm trem sounds of the Empress on the tube waveform?

hurm. i've only played with the Empress in-store, so it was a different bass and rig than i'm familiar with.... but i didna like the Empress. most of the settings were meh on bass. but i didn't spend a LONG time with it, maybe 20 minutes or so?

i LOVE the Cygnet. it has a lot of range and the multiplyer is dead fub. 'specially if you get the exp pedal mod. way cool. it's a pretty digital sound, but with the depth and width knob to play with, you can get a lot of the warmth of your signal to come through.

I really want to try the Cygnet. I've talked to Taylor on and off about one and at some point I will have one on my board. I'm a big fan of tremolo on bass.

As for the Empress, I'd disagree with Behndy - I think it is fantastic on bass. It does very hard chop square wave and the assymetrical tube waveform sounds fantastic. Very low noise trem and the different patterns and ramp functions are really fun to play around with.

I don't think the Cygnet has a waveform that would be equivalent to the Empress in terms of a tube like trem sound. What the Cygnet has is many more waveforms, the multiplier knob/expression control and more control over the trem waveshape with the width knob. And it looks amazing.

For anybody that has tried both, can the Cygnet chop as hard as the Empress does on square wave mode with the depth cranked?

lulz. yeppers. listen to Jared The Lash. LIS, i only spent a bit of time with the Empress on an unfamiliar rig.

the Cygny DOES do super clean choppiness on the square wave/depth maxes setting. that's actually my favorite sound i ever got out of it.

I have the empress now, and I'm just debating wether to change. Hmmm, maybe I should just get the Cygnet before I decide wether to ditch the Empress. That multiplier jack is just so tempting!
