Enigma for MJ's Scream?

Sign in to disble this ad
I heard the demo for the new EHX Enigma, and the first song I heard in my head was Michael Jackson's '95 release Scream with sister Janet. Would anyone else agree this is a useable example of what the Enigma could sound like?

I know it isn't out yet, and I'm not looking to cover this song anytime soon- I just want to hear what other songs are out there that could possibly use the Enigma.

Ah, didn't notice- ha. Well, in any case- if anyone has other examples (or vids of them playing...), throw them up here!

sounds like the Enigma can do it - really gurgly filter

I just tried this filter out at ludlow guitars.

WOW! really powerful filter. I reqll dug using the start and stop freq along with the attack and decay to basically get all kinds of different filter sounds. from a deep drob with an up AND down filter. basic dod440 sounds and near BMS sounds. Please note all of these were achieved in lp mode

The built in distortion is basically a "gurge drive" button it makes the filter synthy in some of the filter setting and ballsy in others the sound is fixed but I never found myself wanting to dial it back

and in the end is ALL about the clean blend for the hp and bp sounds to really work easily.

The con? No trigger input. I didn't try it with a fuzz but I'm afraid it might mitigate the sensitivity control.

Edit: I just bought it. Full review to come soon

EHX needs to add a trigger input because the filter can get DEEP! and having a deep fuzz coming in would be godly.

and I definitely think the pedal can pull off scream stock.
