| Envelope filter on The Grudge

Listen to Tool's "The Grudge". At about 4:12 to 4:25, it sounds like Justin Chancellor is using an envelope filter on his bass.

I know it sounds very subtle, and I know that Justin Chancellor hadn't got his Guyatone BR-2 around the time of Lateralus, but if I were ever to cover The Grudge, I'd probably use an envelope filter. I could set it to "low-pass", and set the other knobs whatever way would suit me.
If anyone's got a Q-Tron or any other filter pedal, do you think you could try out the section I was talking about?
