Envelope Filter recommendation - Very specific need

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,
Need some help locating a very specific envelope filter.

I need:

1) Small enclosure (MXR size but NOT the MXR bass envelope because of...see #2)

2) Most important - I need it to be able to flip the sweep from up to down

3) True bypass - doesn't have to be 3PDT, but at least a buffered true bypass

Here are the filters I've already been through and own just so you don't recommend a redundant pedal:

1) WMD fatman and superfatman (too large)
2) Subdecay Prometheus or Proteus (too large and mini doesn't have up and down filter sweep)
3) Menatone Mailbomb (no up and down)
4) Emma Discumbobulator (has up and down but too large)

So guys....watcha got for me? Thanks for the help!

EBS BassIQ is the first that comes to mind for me.

I also forgot the Maxon AF-9, which is more Boss-sized, but close. Filter Twin could work if the additional length isn't a problem.

Thank you as well, that one didn't even cross my mind. Is that a true up/down flip of the filter? I'll check out more info and videos on that one.

I forgot to add the Maxon to my list of already tried pedals. I don't care for the tone and volume spike on that one.

The aguilar length isn't a problem since the jacks are top mounted. It's the width I'm concerned about since I hate turning pedals sideways on my board.

Spencer (3Leaf Audio) has a Mutron clone coming out that is a MXR or the slightly bigger Hammond box that a lot of smaller builders use and has an up down sweep.

i think it will be available January.

Cool, I like the tone of the 3leaf a lot.

I just watched some videos of the Aguilar.... awesome tone. I'll definitely be thinking about this one.

the Aggy is very neat. it's an odd beast tho. it's all about blending the up and the down sweep, and the threshold knob is shared between the two filters. so it can be finicky.

you're not in Cali are you? i have one of the pre-release 3Leaf Mutron clones (he's going with Proton as the name) if you want to check it out.

Hehe, thanks but I'm about as far away from you as I can be... NYC. Hope it's warm by you, cause it's effing freezing here in the big apple.

oh yeah, i am a HUGE fan of Iron Ether's stuff. the Xerograph can do so many sounds it's amazing. and you can get it with an up/down switch.
