Envelope Filter Seasoning

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm looking to fill up my pedalboard. I run with a compressor and an OD pedal. I play in a rock/funk band and I need to add a little bit to my sound in some songs. So I'm looking for an envelope filter. Not one that will make my sound all wet and funky but just a little seasoning(spice up my tone).

My price range is pretty much anything under 100$.

Thanks in advance!

Digitech BSW?

It's a nice box with a tonne of features, quite a nice filter. It's not fantastically versatile, but I like it.

Dead simple to use. Two knobs and a blend (reminds me of the DOD, which belongs to the same parent company that owns Digitech)

The Boss aw3 autowah has nice flavor, not too overbearing, but pretty versatile. It also has a dedicated input for bass, and works well with other pedals.

Is the DOD any good, because if it's just as good, I'll look into that...it's a lot cheaper.

IMO the BSW is one of the worst sounding pedals out there.

Go for the Ibanez AW-7.

Yes, but the nano Dr Q is much more subtle, and sounds fantastic after some od.

I'm assuming that this is the ToneFactor brand filter. It is known to be less extreme. Check it out!

I was wondering if that 440 would be any good on bass.
This unit looks very interesting though.

I recently got a Boomstick Bottom Feeder (The DOD 440 clone), and think it is great!...it’s not an over the top envelope filter, but it adds some great subtle to mildy strong “quack” to your sound…depending on settings and how hard you are digging in. This one is a keeper for me…
