I just listened to the whole song. I didn't hear an envelope filter of any kind

+1 not even remotely. There is a keyboard sound that has a dip in its envelope, that can be heard clearly in the opening few bars, but there is no envelope filter pedal that could make a bass sound like that.

Maybe there's a synth pedal that could do it?

Off topic but a lot of things about this song sound like "The Beautiful People" to me.

Sounds like a keyboard synth to me. I've never heard a chorus pedal sound like that.

It sounds nothing like a chorus, and your bass teacher was wrong.

In retrospect, a guy in the band is playing a keytar.

You could always try playing through a chorus to learn whether it will or won't get you near that sound.
