I've played an eb-3 with a rat pedal and it sounded great any thoughts on how it would sound with the eb-o?

Aren't they almost the same? Just the EB-3 has the little p'up at the bridge in addition to the Mudbucker and the EB-0 has the mudbucker at the neck?

I use a ton of dirtboxes with a Gibson SG Bass, I think it sounds great, though I do spend a lot of time using the bridge pickup if not favoring the bridge pickup, but that's for a very guitarlike sound... the neck pickup, like you'd have on an EB-0, sounds at least on my bass very meaty and heavy with a dirtbox, and recently I've been spending some time favoring the neck pickup with my dirt in my band. Maybe won't have the most bite, but definitely some low growl and purr.

The factory strings were too bright for me so I just bought some new flatwound fender strings and i really hoped this rat pedal that i just ordered should do the job. I play in a punk band so I hoped this combo would I work I've heard the eb-0 doesnt do so good with effects.

I sawa band in richmond where the bassist was using an EB-0 with a Metal Muff. It sounded fine.

The new neck pickups are cool but thy don't even come close to the sound of the old ones, I have a 60 in my 90's Rivoli and when the tone is turned down you can't tell there is a dirt box on very easily I wish someone would actually have the balls to make a real Mudbucker these days, charity be damned lets have pure unadalterated heavyness.

Yeah, the new pickups are definitely way different than the old ones, that's for sure. My bass doesn't sound anything like the sounds I heard from the 60's.
