EQ Boost of Sub Bass in a Pedal?

Sign in to disble this ad
okay, most bass eq pedals have sliders down to 50hz or so. anyone know of anything that can cleanly boost the 10-40hz spectrum? preferably in a pedal and preferably not $$$$. anyone know of anyone one who could mod a bass eq pedal to boost those subs? thanks in advance for all info

Dunno of any pedals that go that low FWIW you do realize that that frequency range is below the operating threshold of most amps and speaker cabs, getting into the range of specialized speakers. You can boost it all you want but never get anywhere but sucking out the power and performance of your amp and create a lot of heat that can and will lead to failure. If those frequencies are all that important you should consider adding a sub to your current amp.

i'm planning on going straight to pa. my bass is getting modded to use strings that go down to 13hz. i know there is a bit of roll off under 20-30hz on most cabs. so i just want to boost to compensate for the roll off. thanks

BEst i have seen in a pedal is the Boss eq 20 but it only goes down to 30hz. Anything lower and you might need a 32 band rack eq. BYOC will let you choose the frequency of the sliders on the eq kit. You might want to contact them and see what they might be able to do..

i haven't seen any eq racks yet that have sliders lower than about 30hz. i just checked BYOC and the eq is discontinued. that would have been the ticket

Is it your PA? If so... you could probably design a bass booster for 10-40Hz. This link should get you on your way: http://seanm.ca/stomp/bassbooster.html .

I doubt you will find a commercial product. Most cabs roll off at 50-60Hz. Not only are you going to be competing with cab roll off, but most mixers are going to have high pass filters.

Good luck, I am interested in how it works out.
