ok i dont know alot about envelopes but could a person make an envelope filter that is an EQ at the same time? like you hit a note it is a deep bassy one that turns into a super treb one?????

Is this possible? Am i crazy for asking/thinking of this?

Yes, entirely possible. EQ is just a type of filter.

Sounds a bit like my Q-tron plus - an envelope filter, controlled by the dynamics of your playing. Have a look at the ehx demo.

If you want something more "sophisticated" you could use the filters and routing on a synth that has an external input. A novation nova...

could probably do what you want. You could perhaps set up the high pass filter to effect the sound dependent on an envelope??

I use a pedal wah for this kind of stuff. Much easier to control.

An Eq that responds to your attack? Now there's an idea!
Set up a two stage filter for the input level, each followed by its own Eq, followed by a gain stage(so you can achieve unity with each section) sorted!
:Ninja:

Sorry for the random blabber...

Sounds kind of like an expander. The Boss EH-2 has an envelope follower, which triggers a boost in a certain frequency, which you control with a knob. I think the EHX Steel Leather is the same deal, except I don't think you can select the frequency with that one.

Check out the toadworks enveloope.

http://www.toadworksusa.com/

It basically is an envelope of whatever you put in the loop. Add an EQ to the loop and you are set!
