If I played a different head, I would seriously look at adding a Markbass Super Booster to my pedalboard. |

Which in English is generally a reference to a stiffening of the male sex organ or penis. You can erect a building but when you said it gave your tone a strong erection the visual was slightly different, and it wasn't eating food. I hope my explanation hasn't pushed over the boundry of this forum's rules...I tried to keep it clinical.

I dislike wall warts, but oh, well. It's 18v. It won't take batteries. I like the LEDs on each slider. It's easier for me to see what's going on with a graphic.
The outermost sliders are pre and post levels, and their LEDs blink as you approach clipping. You adjust these just as you would on an amp, normally to keep the signal to noise ratio as high as possible without distorting. The EQ bands are an octave apart.
I use the MXR to adjust for the room, and the bass's tone knob, a Hartke VXL (sometimes), and the amp EQ for flavoring. This way I don't have to mess with anything but the MXR to adjust for the room.
Here's the GP review.
Here's the manual.

Then I switched to the MXR six-band EQ, as I wanted a smaller footprint, and had a different use in mind. I run that after my Agro on my dirt channel, with the lows completely cut, to simulate running the dirt through a guitar amp. Works nicely in that application, though that is using it as more of an effect than for tone shaping. Couldn't quite get the Ric effect the couple of times I tried...different voicings.

"Bur" - I suspected you were serious, just wasn't sure if you appreciated the connotation of strong erection in english. The food you were describing sounded great. |

My onboard is a little frustrating to use, my amp eq doesn't help house sound (I believe that I should control my eq and the sound guy can shape it as needed. I get along with my soundguys ). My BEF Pro is used more for its eq than anything else on it, honestly :s
I like the 'buzz' around the empress, I just don't get why they did switchable Q... I get that its probably plenty but parametric is parametric... Still seems to get plenty of love though haha. |

| | | | I can deal with any EQ pedal, as long as it has 800Hz. The Boss EQ-20 is a good choice, although slight overkill for me personally. I also have to agree with the Zoom B3 having some cool EQ stuff inside, and the old Trace Elliot series has always fascinated me. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
