i have no experience with either of these pedals. i was wondering if anybody that has active pre-amps has used either or both of them and how it sounded? |

I haven't tried the 25K version, but after having noise problems with active volume pedals using active basses, I went to the passive EB Jr, with no problems whatsoever, and absolutely no noise in my signal.

I have no problems with noise at all with mine.

As with onboard volume and tone pots, you should match the volume pedal pot's impedance with the bass signal.
Strong signal (active electronics): low impedance.
Normal signal (passive electronics): high impedance
By the way, EMG-HZs pickups are named that way since Z means impedance, in physics, and HZ stands for "High Impedance", thus, passive pickups |

...the EB VP Jr. Passive ( AFAIK it's named so to denote it's intended use with a passive bass as opposed to an active bass...just took a quick peek at their website and each description states "...for use with ______ electronics...) cleared it all up for me.
I guess what I'm saying is using a 250K version VP gave me no issues whatsoever.
Which ones are you using?

I have no idea what value pot is in that pedal. Never heard any dramatic problems with it, though the fewer stompboxes I use the more I am aware of the slight signal loss the EB does seem to impart. But I'm willing to put up with some minor signal loss in exchange for its near indestructability & ease of maintenance. |

Can anyone explain which ones do what? I play passive bass but have some boss (buffered) pedals in my effects chain. |

We need some one to get both the 25K and 250K and do a comparison with an active and passive bass.

I'll see if I can do something this week, but don't count on it...depends on if I have one in stock I can bring home and try out...

BUT it seems like the volume travel is all wrong.
Its just too quiet for most of its range and only the top quarter of the travel is usable for me. Anyone else?

David Santos | I found out that the pot is different in the VP jr, I actually found as did a co-worker that it affected tone adversely...especially for bass...so I actually stopped using it and sold it...
...it works well with some axes, not with others...so try before you buy is a definite suggestion AFAIC...or buy the regular sized one if you're playing bass would be my suggestion...
