| | | | Essential Bass pedal/effect?
Sign in to disble this ad
I've just started on the bass (about a month or so)
And I am thinking of getting a pedal/effect to pimp my sound
What is the essential and a definite must-have pedal?
Cheers. |

That said, I really like some heavy drive (Modded Pro Co Rat) and some chorus ( EHX Stereo Electric Mistress), but you might not like them at all.

It really depends on the music you play, your gear and the type of sound(s) you need.

Not really that worried about effects but practice does gets boring sometimes without some effect if you know what i mean. |

If the answer is yes then I would suggest starting with a compressor.
What type of music do you play/write? |

Effects can be really disappointing if your buying them just to stomp on them and see what happens or because you've read somewhere that it's great. Try and visualise the sound your after and buy and effect to suit that sound.
Don't rush and take your time it can be a black hole of money if you don't. |

IMO! He needs something fun!

This is definitely not always the case though. You won't hurt anything as such by using guitar effects. Just give them a go and see if you like the sound or not

But like you said that's not always the case so i'll give it a go |
