Essential Pedals...?

Sign in to disble this ad
So I realized my Line 6 POD XT Live > QSC PLX2402 > Avatar BL410 Neo setup was just too complicated for me. I'm not really THAT much of an effects guy, and trying to find the "right sound" was just too much work.

So I sold that setup and bought a MarkBass LMT800.

I'm thinking I wanna make a mini-board, with a tuner (probably the old standby, BOSS tuner), but I dunno what else I should have. I'd like to have a few "go-to" pedals that are more or less universal... Maybe a delay and a chorus? I don't see a whole lot of use for a synth or octave pedal, but there's a lot of effects out there... FWIW, I play modern rock covers, heavily blues-influenced.

Suggestions?

There are no essential effects. It's all about what you want to shape your sound and get ideas from your head out through your cabs.

If you're doing covers, then you probably will want to cop some of the tones in the songs you're playing -- what do those songs have for bass effects?
