This should have been put in the Effects or Recording forum. Your thread title also needs work.

We have a whole forum full of them. Plus if you look at Musicians Friend, Sweetwater, etc. they have page after page after page of listings of them. If you want anything more specific than that, you'll have to figure out what you are trying to achieve, and tell us. Otherwise it's like going to the library and just saying "can anyone show me a book". When you tell us what you are trying to achieve, be as specific as possible. If you already know any of the terms you would use such as "overdrive" or "grind" or "fatness" or "tube" etc. you will need to first use the search engine and look up those terms.

You want an audio interface AKA sound card. They come in a wide range of prices and features, and many of them come "bundled" with recording software already. So you'll want to decide your budget firstly. A couple of years ago I did some comparison shopping and decided that the Presonus Firebox (bundled with Cubase software) was the best bang-per-buck out there. But I'm sure a lot has changed in the last two years. You'll have to go over to the Recording forum and start reading and searching over there for that info.

Bongomania, thanks, thats exactly what I was looking for. Next time \ Ill put my posts where they need to be, but more people look at the bass forum, so I posted it here. Sorry. The other two posts, sorry for the misspellings, my MacBook stated that dire was an incorrect spelling, wont hapen again. Thanks for the sarcasm.

as far as effects go, like bongo said, you need to be more specific. for recording you might only want stuff like compressor, or reverb, or things like that. for some intence screaching noise thatll freak out th rest of the band () there are many more options..

are you looking for fuzz/gain kind of effects? wah? chorus? delay, maybe?

give us a hint and youll probobly get 200 suggestions.
