So for years my favourite fuzz has been the Mojo Hand Huckleberry, just love it but for over a year now the fuzz on my main board has been a bass modified Tone Factor Fuzz Saw, I did an audition for another band a few days ago and again the Fuzz Saw was getting stepped on more, even though I had the Huckleberry and Ultra Lord with me.
I never intended for it to be my main fuzz, I don't really know how it happened, I originally didn't use it much for Our Innocence Lost just a few intros and stuff now it's working more and more into the newer heavier stuff.
I even redid my boards last night for other stuff and during testing the Huck just wasn't cutting it (I think it's more of an impedance thing with it being in the Xotic loop)
So I'm a bit I don't know how this happened, I never like the first Fuzzsaw I had and the bass ones don't sound good direct for clips but with my amps and cabs they just scream.
So share your stories, pedal that were put on boards as place holders, just for this cover song, etc etc and just became the go to sound.

its so big and heavy, and basically the main reason i can't downsize from a moderately heavy pedaltrain 2, down to a nice pedaltrain mini
its so darn useful! and i dont want it to be.

I could never really get a bassy signal or a sound I liked at bedroom levels - but at band levels WOW.
It has an awesome tone in the mix, cuts through and really focuses the fuzz tone.
Forces you to use it over my (otherwise) main fuzz - which is a Supercollider BTW. |

I don't ever try to use it,... but its the most dependable pedal I have that works in the mix... octave up fuzz doesn't work so well with guitards and keep migrating back to the PD7,... just have to make sure treble isn't up or that the attack switch has moved else it sounds yuck

Not sure how that happened. I tried really hard to avoid that.

Every other pedal I have is essential to my sound and all have to be there. I couldn't make it through practice or a set without one of them. |

I was pretty much over the moon about my BFJE Blueberry but I wanted a second low drive OD pedal and I got antsy waiting for the Dredgtone, so I bought the Barber.
Now the Barber is my most used pedal and I've sold the Blueberry.

But the two pedals that stuck around the longest despite me trying hard to replace them are the XXLB and the Maxon PH-350.
I auditioned a bunch of pedals to try and take the spot of each of those two. The Maxon is still on my board, and the Tech 21 isn't only because I'm at a point where I don't need a heavy distortion. I'm guessing that if I do, I'll be in the same position as Mr. Pickles. |

| | | | I really try to avoid pedal usage, and I only own two of them - a noname volume pedal and Fender Blender...and no matter how hard I try, I keep coming across passages in songs that could really use the blender. |

But..........that darn GT-6B has found its way back into my set-up. Would like to checkout the Electro Harmonix HOG with a bass.....like to see how useful it might be. |
