There are a ton of things it can do, but I was just not that excited about it so I sold it. My suggestion is to buy it used, that way if you don't dig it, you can turn around and sell if without a massive loss.
I am not really sure what you are looking for, but it has a lot of sounds in it. I am sure that does not help you out a bunch, but that was my experience.
Peace,
Chris

I'm planning on getting a blender anyway so hopefully that'll make it more usable on bass.

I have 3 different Mu-tron settings on it , it's the main reason I use it. I don't want 3 Q-trons or Mu-trons on my pedal board.
As for sounds, I would say that a lot of them are pretty weird effects that are not used in many situations, but they are still pretty cool. Like I said , I use it almost only for the Mu-tron setting. |

It's a fun pedal to play with. Many many sounds.
But... it's hit or miss with some of the effects.
It seems like it was mainly designed for use with a guitar, so some of the effects can be a nightmare for bass.
Like soulplane83 stated, some of the patches do have low end loss. There is a blend knob on all patches, but it can still be difficult to obtain a good mix to retain the bottom end. But then again, some of the patches can obliterate your speakers. When you first get it, turn your amp down!
Two patches in particular that are very hard to tame with bass are the Throbber and the Obi-Wah.
The Throbber gives you a weird tremolo effect that can be REALLY harsh on your speakers. It is afterall an LFO and can peak those low frequencies very fast.
The Obi-Wah just randomly emphasizes certain frequencies. When it hits those lows, it's downright scary watching your speakers try and jump out of the cab. However, you can choose low pass, band pass and high pass. That helps.
All other patches are tons of fun to play with. Depending on what you're expecting and how you're going to use it. I absolutely love using synths and strange noises for my music, so it's a great tool.
With the synths (Growler, Synth String, Attack Synth, Synthomatic) as long as your playing is clean, they'll all track wonderfully. If you're a sloppy player, it's gonna be a mess.
With the filters, well, you'll have to find a place to really fit these sounds into your music.
Overall, you'll just have to sit with this thing and play with it for a long long time. There are tons of options and the tweeking seems infinite.
Lots and lots of fun if you're into making weird sounds and taking your bass into new territories. It's inspired me to play in new ways. |

These types of pedals really tend to overwhelm me and I end up just picking a few settings I like and ignoring the rest of the pedal, which is what I knew would happen here so I didn't get it. The sounds were cool, if not entirely usable in my current band situation. I ended up deciding on getting a subdecay prometheus, so I'm bidding on one of those right now, and plan on just buying a new one if this auction doesn't work out in my favor. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
