Expression Pedal and BSY-600

Hi guys!

I bought myself a BSY-600 pedal a while back, and thought I'd give it a try with an expression pedal. I came up with the Line 6 Ex-1.

Now, I'm having trouble making this work. So basically, my bass goes into the "IN" on the BSY-600, which then goes to my amp through its "OUT" port. Then, I take the Ex-1, which apparently only has one "port", the "INPUT", so i make a connection from there to the "EXP" on the BSY-600. But all that happens is my sound getting much more boomy, and the pedal doing... well, nothing, really.

Am I missing something? Did I get a wrong pedal or am I making a wrong connection somewhere?

line 6 only works with their products. You need a TRS cable not the line 6 TS type. I did the same mistake once as well.

I thought as much!

Does that count for other brands as well? Meaning, can I only use Behringer Expression pedals for other Behringer pedals? Or are there certain brands that are compatible? Like the Boss Expression pedal, would that work for my BSY-600? Because those aren't all that different, except for the quality (which I don't mind paying extra for).

You need and expression pedal wired up as a voltage-divider (usually recognized by having stereo-jacks (TRS/Tip-Ring-Sleave)). Moog EP-2 is a good cheap option. I believe the Roland and Boss expression-pedals are wired this way too.

Hiya!

So, i returned the Line-6, and just received my Roland EV-5... Same problem... I see people on Youtube using it with the Boss synth pedal, so I thought it'd work out, but it doesn't.

I'm gonna fool around with it a bit more, maybe I'm doing something worng (I usually do, although this contraption doesn't seem overly complicated...)...

Nope, never mind, fixed it :-) Took some fiddling with the min/max "volume" control on the pedal, in combination with the decay controls on my BSY-600. I'm a happy hippo!
