Expression Pedal - Pot Taper Help!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys,

I'm modding a volume pedal to be used as a expression pedal. I get that the taper has to be log, I get that the resistance has to be 100k (for this application).

The thing I'm struggling with is the travel of the pot. The pot I've taken out only has a travel of about 90 degrees whereas the others I've bought go about 270 degrees.

What should I be asking for in the electronics shop to get a pot with limited travel?

You'll be lucky to find one to be honest. What sort of volume pedal is/was it?

You could take the pot in and ask if they can get them, but being OEM stuff I'd be surprised if they'll know how to get a hold of one.

You might have to consider getting a higher value pot so that it reaches the high value you require at the 90 degree point.
