Expression Pedals

I am looking into buying an expression pedal for my Boss Bass Synthesizer. The Boss manual recommended buying the Roland expression pedal, and although the price is great the reviews are not. I was looking into purchashing one from toneczar.com which they make out of ernie ball volume pedals. Does anyone have any experience with said pedal? And if so, do you recommend it?

I think the Roland is just a rebadged Bespeco pedal. They look cheap and indeed they are cheap but they're pretty good value IMO. I've had a couple over the years (and I've got one now) and not had a problem with them.

Some people don't like them because they're light so it's easy to kick them around by accident, but if it's velcro'd to a board it won't go anywhere.

The Roland pedal is just fine, works as it should, and feels sturdy.

Any experience with the rocktron volume/expression pedal? Seems a great space saver. I ask because there is probably some disadvantage of having them combined that I can't quite put my finger on.

I use Roland EV-5 with no problem.

Here is a runthrough video I made with the SYB-5 and EV-5:
