My FX-32 ,(DOD meat box) is missing a battery cover,
old DOD pedals are frequently missing these, as u know..

Anyplace selling these replacement parts?

I Guess i can buy a cheap used DOD pedal, sell it, & keep the cover..

does anyone have one in their junk drawer someplace??..
I can trade somebody something useful:

set /4 chrome dome knobs
new ibanez PJ pickups
new mic cable,(quality)

let me get this straight.

You need a battery cover for your meat box.

Some DOD distributors use to have replacement battery covers.
from what i hear none of them carry them anymore...because the manufacture went out of business.

No not DOD or Digitech a separate company that made battery doors...
Calling a DOD distributor or DOD tech support might be your best bet....maybe very old dealers might have some laying around use the DOD Locator....or find the links at the Website

i think the Grunge pedal and the old yellow FX50B overdrives go the cheapest on Ebay.basically you buy another pedal to steal the battery door

Sometimes you get lucky and see battery doors on ebay...they will sell as high as 5 to $10

finding a grunge or fx50 for $15 is sometimes the cheapest way to go if you don't want to wait.
i searched the bay and found these...always a DOD on the bay
FX50B
Grunge

with shipping cost it might be better to buy a used pedal at a local music store...since shipping can be around 6 to 7 bucks.

sorry man wish i had the magic answer...but the company that made the replacements went bye bye many years ago. I forget the name and it doesn't matter now anyways..and DOD for some reason refuses to sell them direct....maybe they smartened up......otherwise a smaller distributor where you can actually get a human on the phone is the best bet.

Thanx for the reply,
I feel odd addressing the subject, but these fx are super hard to replace,

I'd like to take a shot at finding one rather than duct taping it

I have an extra one you can have (from a DOD FX82). I too, lost one and found a replacement on ebay years ago. Then wouldn't you know, I found the original. PM me your address.

It's too bad we don't have a resident small-scale plastics manufacturer here on TalkBass, and people who are willing to nobly sacrifice their DOD and Sovtek (it seems that their battery covers tend to break or otherwise go missing more often than DOD) battery covers to benefit us all. I'd be willing to give up the cover for my FX-17 for that cause.

Thanx, one of my generous colleagues came through!.. (after I wandered through 3 guitar shops, put up ads..)

A (very kind and classy) bassist named Kathy is mailing her extra cover to me tomorrow!

the fact that my beloved FX-32 might have to live her life covered in duct tape botheres me..
The news made me happy.

But the warmth & generosity of a fellow
TB'er is what really made me happy.
That's what a community like TB is all about, One bassist helping another..
Hopefully, I can "pay it forward"!.

Thank u, Kathy,
Happy holidays, TalkBass'ers!!
