Farndurk Effects

A guy who has come out of the DIY community and started his own line of pedals. Some of the concepts and approaches are pretty interesting (Toneplugs!), and I like the aesthetics. No bass specific stuff at this point, but I've already had a couple of conversations with him about bass friendly toneplugs.

I'm going to order one of his compressors to check it out, for my *cough* other musical interests.

Hmm, interesting. Not too pricey either.

Right on his website, price increase in February! 4 week lead time, means things are going pretty well.

Sounds cool, the tone plug idea is definately interesting. I like the look of the compressor.

I'm not sure if I like the fact that the face plate comes off instead of the base plate.

No batteries, so it doesn't matter much.

Nothing, as your pedals won't have any jacks for them to go into

Wow, these look really cool. I wonder if toneplugs will catch on anywhere else, seems like it could be a revolutionary idea in pedals.

The plugs could be brilliant if they work. And if Farndurk starts using them for things that aren't just overdrives. For instance, they'd be wicked cool as the clipping for a drive section in an envelope filter -- the plugs could make the difference between say, a tube zipper and a q-tron. I have high hopes for these guys.

the placement of the footswitch on the sunshine comp boggles me. why there....wouldn't you break that little plastic, rocket blasting, clip looking thing.

Not a footswitch. They have another model for the footswitch version. The sunshine is designed to be "always on", so has just a flip toggle switch.
