Fat Man vs Prometheus

Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone have any experience with both of these filters? I am looking at the super Fat Man and the Prometheus - both seem to fit the bill. I have no particular tones in mind, I just want a versatile filter. Some of the descriptions I have read of the Fat Man make it sound like a slightly more unique sounding filter, which appeals to me. The subdecay is a little cheaper, so it has that going for it. Any advice...bearing in mind I wont be able to test them out?

Not tried the new Fatman, but I had the first one for a while. It might seem flexible, but a lot of the settings higher up on the range knob drop low end, even in lowpass mode. It's great for synthy jungle / drum&bass style 'WOMP!' sounds though!

I have a moog lpf, so I have a fair bit of 'womp' there. But that description sounds good, not that I make that kind of music, but I do like similar sounds, and it will be used as part of a synth setup.

Lack of trigger input on the Prom has always been a dealbreaker for me.
