fatboost+bass-drive=fuzz?

i already have a fulltone bassdrive that i love, but recently want to try more of a fuzz tone. rather than just go with a muff that might cost about the same as a fatboost or a boutique fuzz that i can't afford, would putting the fatboost before the bassdrive give me the extra bump in gain to get a fuzz sound? or am i just grasping at straws with that idea? also, i feel like if this would work the fatboost would be slightly more usable than a separate fuzz pedal. any ideas?

I can't say that I've tried it, but I can say I've tried guitars with significantly higher output (active ones as opposed to my usual passive guitars) and didn't get much of a difference in result. If anything, I'd suspect you'd get a harder distorted sound, but I don't think it will go into fuzz territory. Just my 2 cents.

my opinion is the same. my bassdrive was replaced by an MXR Blowtorch because i realized i wasnt looking for overdrive/distortion but more of a warmer smoother fuzz type of clipping. like a square wave.
