Not sure we've done one of these before, but it seemed appropriate enough. Some of us buy a LOT more of one type of effect than another, so you can rate based on how much you buy it, or how much you enjoy one particular effect you have. BEFORE YOU VOTE: Please classify boxes such as the BDDI, VT Bass, M-80, Tone Hammer or BDI21 under preamps, unless you use them strictly as dirt units.

right now, i'd say digitech whammy - sort of a class of its own. i've been using mine for the 2 octave up stuff, for solos- its really sick. |

Compared to two chorus pedals, two flanger, one compressor, two wahs, one pitch shifter, five overdrives, two delays, one phaser, two autowahs, and more.
So I guess fuzz, then overdrive, which tallied up all together is 11 different pedals throughout my tenure. |

Should've made this a multiple-choice poll.

| | I'm a tumbler, born under punches | | Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Northern California | | So overdrive, distortion and fuzz each get their own category while chorus and flanger have to share and tremolo doesn't even make the list? I see how it is.
I love filters, tremolos and delay but phasers are my favorite. |

I forgot Ring Modulation too. That's different enough from everything else to have one on its own.
If two more effects can be found that were not added, I'll request deletion of this thread and reboot it.

| | | | its a dead tie currently, three of each, comps, filters, chorus, octaves......by the end of the week i should be getting one flanger and one synth. which will raise the number of those on my board to three also.
something has to go soon, but its all so much fun. |

What about boost/gain, or EQ, do they count as effects?

Then again, I suppose the same can be said about tuners, but tuners have no effect on your tone or signal (at least, no intended effect.)

I try to like/want/need other stuff but when I have it at a gig I never seem to use it. It never seemed to translate to the FOH mix. Maybe I just didn't use "extreme" enough settings. |

| | | | Toss up between filters and compressors. My DBX 166A is one of the best purchases I've made. I love my BASSIQ but I also want a 3 leaf and a cool tremolo. I voted for compression. |

By most used: chorus/flanger |
