| Fender PT-100 Distorting

Hey,
So my Fender pedal tuner distorts when I have it bypassed on the muted tuning output.
When I put it though the other output it distorts when the pedal is turned off. When I turn the pedal on it sill distorts but not as much.
I would like tune with the muted option...
It only distorts when I play hard(er). If I pick softly it is clean(er).
I'm playing a passive Peavey Grind-6
Is there something I can fix on the pedal? Has anyone else experienced this?
