Fender Sub-lime bass fuzz

Sign in to disble this ad
Apologies if this has been covered, I did a search & came up with nothing.

Anybody know anything about this new bass fuzz pedal from Fender? It looks like part of their classics reissue campaign, but I've seen nothing on their website....just an ad in the most recent issue of Bass Player.

I found a European link though:
http://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_sub_lime.htm

Every time I get another fuzz/distortion I'm disappointed and say "That's it! NO MORE."

But I am intrigued by this plucky green pedal....

Any additional info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

It was listed at NAMM but didn't appear. This is the first picture I've actually seen.

looks big. am i grasping this right- that thing up top is some kind of fuzz/tone/volume knob that you can turn with your foot?

either its going to be beautifully simplistic, or really dumb. when i think fender i dont think fuzz pedal.. so, ill stay tuned on this one.

If anyone buys it, remember that it needs a PT-Pro all to itself.

It gets an 'A' for appearance.

Probably a 'C-' for size though

Where are all those controls? Backside? And, just how big is it? Love the color.

From what I can tell there's a knob on the side & the big knob wheel thingy on the top. I'd guess there has to be another one somewhere....

"Fender Sub-Lime

Fender Sub-Lime Bass Fuzz Pedal. It's big, green and ferocious. Frankenstein's monster? Good guess, but no. Introducing the Fender Sub-Lime bass fuzz pedal. Set it at your feet between you and your speakers, and transform the sound of your bass with classic Fender fuzz ranging from the barest touch of evil to an utterly seismic roar. Best of all, tailor your tone by setting the crossover frequency wherever you want the fuzz to happen-low-frequency fuzz, high-frequency fuzz and anything in between-all without sacrificing all-important low-end muscle and fundamental bass tone. Dressed in sublime lime green, the big, heavy-duty cast design evokes Fender's great old pedals of the '70s and boasts an enormous control dial that fluoresces entrancingly from green to red as you adjust the fuzz level from left (slightest hint) to right
(DEFCON 1). Simple volume and drive controls let you easily dial in the loudness and range of fuzz tones. Runs on 9-volt battery or DC power.

The features of the Fender Sub-Lime:

* Main Backlit Knob: Variable fuzz gain - change on the fly!
* Volume: Overall pedal volume control
* Drive: Overall fuzz amount desired
* X-Over Freq: Variable fuzz frequency control (30 - 300hz) - user defined

Tone: Overall tone amount desired (more/ less bright)"

Fender makes a phaser with this enclosure too. Myself, I don't "get" it - the wheel seems like an inferior control to, say, an expression pedal?

I may have to buy this pedal only because of how cool that sounds. I'm not all that wise.

Yeah - I mean you are going to have to stand on one leg whilst playing the bass and rotate your leg to control the pedal....

It may be worth it if it sounds the business though....
