Question Fender Sublime vs. Fulltone Bass Drive

Sign in to disble this ad
Which do you guys prefer, the Fulltone Bass Drive or the Fender Sublime? Or something else entirely? I'm kind of new to the whole effects thing, so I'm looking for some outside opinions on what you look for in a fuzz.

The Fulltone is based off a tube screamer if I'm not mistaken while the Fender is a straight fuzz. I suggest you go a guitar store and just try out different things. Happy hunting!

The real question is do you want overdrive or fuzz. Because they are night and day. I think some people would suggest the EHX BBM for a nice/cheap start point for fuzz.

Apparently there is a perceived loss of lowend on the bass-drive, I owned a first-gen Bass-Drive and I wasnt that impressed, but the two-channel system was cool.

the bassdrive will sound more like a cranked SVT, the Sublime can sound more like a big muff.

The Sub-lime has alot of tweakability, but the thing is bloody massive.

They are two completely different animals. I owned a Bassdrive & it never really did it for me. I was trying to achieve distortion instead of a mild "always on" overdrive though.
Currently I'm running a VT Bass with the Sub-lime pedal for the occasional dirt.
Pretty happy.
